About GIVI

Our History

GIVI began with a passion for motorcycles. The founder, Giuseppe Visenzi, was a talented Italian racer, winning the silver medal in the 1969 World Championship. After retiring from racing, his passion for motorcycles drove him to focus on improving the riding experience for other motorcycle lovers. He believed that motorcycles could be used for much more than racing and began to create products to encourage people to interact with their bikes in new and exciting ways. Working from a small factory in Brescia, Italy, he invented the first motorcycle top case, the GIVI E34, in 1983, thereby revolutionizing travel on two wheels and launching the modern day motorcycle accessories business. Since then, GIVI has continued to use the latest materials and technologies to create new and innovative products, always keeping the same goal in mind: to provide motorcyclists worldwide with a safe and enjoyable riding experience.

Real passion, Italian design, strong technological ideas and specific knowledge of materials: these are the key factors of the international success of Givi, which led a small factory in Brescia to become the leader in motorbike accessories.

Today, GIVI employs nearly 500 employees all over the world, working with the same determination of the first day.

Vision & Mission

GIVI’s mission is to allow people to ride with the security, elegance and ease of traveling with both personal and fragile things that can be taken on two wheels.

Sponsorships
  • Our partnership with Lucio Cecchinello’s team is practically unbreakable, and has been reaffirmed for the 2023 season. For LCR HONDA, this year brings some important new developments: the arrival of ALEX RINS, a rider who has already raised great expectations; and our “old” acquaintance TAKAAKI NAKAGAMI, a rider of exceptional speed and significant experience, who has been with the LCR team since 2018. The real transformation, however, lies in the motorcycles: thanks to the direct support of HRC, both ALEX and TAKA will ride an OFFICIAL HONDA with HRC specifications. Our brand will be with them on the track from the very first race, in Portogallo. Many of the championship dates will see us engaged as TITLE sponsor.
  • Those who follow the challenges of the premier class will not have missed GIVI’s presence on the livery of the Desmosedici GP “reds” of the DUCATI CORSE Team which from this year appears in the upper part of the hull.
The partnership has been ongoing — to our great satisfaction — since 2016 and will continue in 2023 too. Allowing us to stay “top of mind” are two expert pilots: World Champion FRANCESCO “PECCO” BAGNAIA and ENEA “BESTIA” BASTIANINI. Both have been working with DUCATI for some time. Let’s not forget that DUCATI CORSE won the CONSTRUCTOR world title in 2020 and the Drivers’ and Constructors’ World titles in both MotoGP and SBK in 2022.
  • The collaboration between LCR MOTOE and GIVI continues in 2023 - as the main sponsor, we’ll proudly appear on the liveries of the new bikes. The 2023 season has the LCR E-Team joining forces with our brand, which wholeheartedly supports for the MotoE project in addition to its long-standing commitment to MotoGP.
This new undertaking is highly strategic for GIVI, which takes a keen interest in the future of everyday mobility relating to the world of two-wheeled vehicles, with growing numbers of electric motorcycles and scooters set to take to our streets.
Taking to the track with the team’s “silent” bikes are riders Eric Granado (BRA), who has competed in the MotoE championship since 2019, and Majorcan Miquel Pons (a two-time Spanish Supersport runner-up).
In the 2022 season, the two riders excelled throughout the season, finishing in 2nd and 5th place overall respectively, setting in motion a 2023 season full of adrenaline.
  • Our presence in these two classes of the world championship continues in 2023 as we renew our agreement with MANUEL PUCCETTI’s team, KAWASAKI-SUPPORTED since 2008. Last season, Team PUCCETTI showed strong results and finished the SBK championship first among the Kawasaki satellite teams.
The new 2023 Supersport season sees the GIVI colours entrusted to the “spearhead” of the Team: 20-year old CAN ONCU, Turkish rider in his fourth season in the category, while for the SUPERBIKE, taking over from Tom Sykes is a rider with considerable experience who has already been part of the team in the past: Tito RABAT. The Barcelona rider, born in 1989, raced for 5 years in the Moto2 World Championship, getting on the podium 33 times and collecting 12 victories in addition to the title in 2014. From 2016 to 2021 he raced in MotoGP and is currently riding in the MotoE World Championship and the Spanish SBK Championship which he won in 2022. A new challenge for the rider who can count on a semi-official bike and a team among the best in the category.
  • GIVI has sponsored the Honda HRC Monster Energy team during six Dakars, which continues to be the most spectacular off-road competition!
If it ain’t broke don’t fix it - so this for year’s event, the 45th edition, held in Saudi Arabia for the fourth consecutive time, from 31 december to 15 January, the HRC Team once again fielded four riders:
Adrien Van Beveren, Ricky Brabec, José Ignacio Cornejo and Pablo Quintanilla. The CRF450Rally dominated and won the race in 2020 and 2021. Now the team and sponsors touch the stages of the Rally Raid world championship, which from April to December will bring the circus to Portugal, Kazakhstan, Silkway (Russia, Mongolia, China), Brazil, Morocco and the United Arab Emirates
  • Alessandro will bring the GIVI colours to the tracks of the five stages of the Italian Motorcycle Rally Championship as well as the Africa Eco Race.
For Alessandro, participating in the Moto Rally is about more than just competition, as this time he will also take on the role of Challenge Ambassador. In fact, it was “Bottu” who in collaboration with YAMAHA developed the Ténéré 700, a model which is garnering significant attention.
After 7 Dakar and 3 Africa Eco Races (with two consecutive victories), our “great” friend has decided to continue the development activity and brought the Ténéré 700 to the race tracks in tandem with the Spanish tightrope walker Pol Tarres managing to win a stage against the 450 which are prototypes created ad-hoc for the race. Our relationship with Alessandro Botturi goes far beyond a simple sporting sponsorship — look for him on our YouTube channel, testing accessories and bags.
  • Born in Bergamo, Italy in 1993, Giacomo has followed the classic off-road career path, starting with Minicross, where he debuted in 2001, before becoming the Italian champion the following year. Then came MX and finally Enduro where he collected 3 world titles and 8 Italian titles. Ours paths then crossed, giving rise to an instant, deep bond. The GIVI brand has been by his side for several years now. Having served as brand ambassador in some of our official videos, Redondi has now moved to the States full-time and competes in the USA AMA and WORCS championships, winning the latter in 2018. The 2023 season has now started and RED has already conquered some podiums, with the official GASGAS in the USA AMA National Grand Prix and AMA West Hare & Scramble Championships.
  • GIVI has decided to support both the Team and the rider, both from Brescia, by participating in the 2023 CIV SBK season with the Ducati Panigale R. GIVI adopts Team Manager Luca Conforti’s idea to include young engineers from the University of Brescia in its Team, which GIVI has been collaborating with for several years. Lorenzo is a very experienced rider capable of achieving great results
  • A native of Brescia, Fabrizio has earned our sponsorship with his ability to achieve results on and off the track as he imparts the secrets of motorcycle riding. In 2023, this dual role will see him once again compete in the national Superbike competition as he rides an RSV4 1100 for the Aprilia MC7 Corse Team. Starting this year Fabrizio will use a GIVI helmet. An experienced rider, he is still the record holder of the Franciacorta Circuit and the Tazio Nuvolari Circuit in Cremona; “Fabri” has also been an F.M.I. certified instructor for many years, directly supported by Kawasaki Italia, ambition that led him to create the PEROT CAMP 43 and the MiniArena43, immersive motorcycle experience in motorbikes, on the road and on the track, through personalised courses aimed at improving motorcycling training starting from PitBikes up to lessons on the track on major Italian and European circuits.
  • ALEX is 37 years old and has more than 20 seasons as a professional under his belt. This rider was the 2013 Enduro World Champion, has been crowned Italian Champion no less than 13 times between MX and Enduro, and has also brought home a European Supercross title and many team victories.
This year he began a new adventure as a tester/developer and ambassador for the historic Fantic brand starting with one of the most difficult challenges, the DAKAR, where he brought the brand new 450 Rally to the race. He will participate in various competitions in different disciplines ranging from MX to Motorally and Enduro. A great spirit for a great rider.
  • Another home-grown talent takes his place among the riders sponsored by GIVI.
The current Italian champion and 250 4T European runner-up, SIMONE began his dirt track career at 14. He has been a rising star ever since, going from a HM50 to a TM125, and from a Beta 125 to bringing home the coveted Italian title in the saddle of a KTM. He continues in the Enduro World Championships and in the Italian stages of the Assoluti, always with GasGas but in GTG Motogamma Team’s 450cc.
  • Our youngest riders need a hand, too. And so we’re excited to support ventures such as IRON MX421 under the GIVI brand. The project is the creation of FABIO FERRARI, a former MX professional. Over the last five years, the school has taken a boy who had never sat on a motorcycle before and led him to victory in the Italian 65cc championship in 2021, as well as finding him a spot in this year’s European 85cc championship. This year, IRON MX421 will largely focus on the racing activities of two young talents, as well as organising more MX courses for young riders. One interesting fact — the school takes its name from an American supercross circuit in North Carolina.
  • Our support to the nursery of the historic MC from Brescia has reached seven seasons. A strong bond that has seen our brand follow a number of big names rise through the ranks: Botturi, Zanetti, Perotti and Salvini, and less recently, speed racer Giuseppe Visenzi as well as historic off-road riders such as Alessandro Gritti, Giovanni Sala and Fabio Farioli, to name a few.
The sporting spirit and educational philosophy applied to the sport are concepts shared by GIVI, which contributes to the costs of uniforms and travel as part of the YOUTH PROJECT.
  • All over the world, it is increasingly common for motorcycling event schedules to feature teams of daredevils who specialise in creating spectacular moments with their freestyle routines. The Riot Riders are one of the most sought-after crews. Made up of professional riders, this team has been showcasing its aerial style since 2002 on MX bikes, quad bikes and snowmobiles. We entered this extraordinary world as sponsors of 27-year-old FMX rider DAVIDE ROSSI from Tuscany, true champion of the ramps (demonstrated in many international events) and one of the most promising riders of the world FMX scene
  • or the 8th year, GIVI has been the main sponsor of the Team made up of students from the Engineering faculty of the University of Brescia with whom GIVI has been collaborating for years for the development and testing of some products. The Team participates in the 7th edition, ending with the race at the Aragon Motorland circuit in Spain. The Championship this year involved 5,000 students from 380 different universities from 22 countries and 4 continents.
The UniBs Team has so far always figured among the top 10 Teams.
R&D TechnoLab
The R&D department is the pride of GIVI. Inside its offices a full team of technicians, designers and engineers work together to find the best solutions for motorcyclists around the world. Thanks to their research of technical materials, innovative technologies and new manufacturing processes, GIVI is able to continuously deliver high quality and innovative products to the motorcycle community. After an idea is developed, the design is often carved out of solid in the Modeling Shop before undergoing the Reverse Engineering process, during which a digital scan is created and modelling studies can be performed using the latest CAD technology. In addition to developing new products, the R&D lab is also an important testing facility, ensuring that all the GIVI products meet even the strictest quality standards. One particular facility is the helmet testing lab, where all the impact tests are carried out in the exact same way they are performed at the official homologating offices. The latest addition to the R&D department is a new facility where a dyno can closely simulate road conditions (with potholes, bumps, dips and so on) as well as some extreme conditions. This is the ultimate test for all of GIVI’s fitting and mounting kits, confirming their strength and security even under the toughest conditions. All of these R&D activities come together to allow GIVI to achieve the ultimate balance between concept and functionality, introducing products with stylish design and leading edge technology that are also fully focused on the motorcyclists’ safety.

GIVI developed the AIRFLOW system as a solution to the problem of low visibility in rainy weather. With traditional windscreens, raindrops accumulate on the surface and impact visibility, especially when reflecting light from passing cars. The specific form of the AIRFLOW system solves this problem by taking advantage of the Venturi effect to divert the wind and rain up and over the rider’s head, creating an aerodynamic bubble of protection. In this way, the rider can lower the windscreen to below the line of sight but can receive the same protection from the wind and rain as a traditional screen that’s 5cm higher. In addition, the AIRLFOW spoiler has a full 12cm of adjustment, so each rider can position the screen according to their height in order to receive the maximum level of protection.

The introduction of a helmet range was a major milestone for GIVI. Conceived in 2001, The Head Protection System (HPS) aimed to rewrite the definition of helmet safety, a concept that has always been the main focus of the GIVI mission. The first two years were spent studying the market. The brand focused on the same characteristics that initially sealed GIVI’s leadership in the side and top case market: Italian design, a high-tech approach and a deep understanding of materials. The project was not easy nor free of hurdles and the challenges pushed the company to a whole new technical and production standard, with the opening of the HPS R&D Center. The very first branded GIVI helmet came out of production in 2003, and in the following years the range was expanded to several models, aimed at urban and touring consumers. Another turning point was the introduction of the X.01 in 2007, with its groundbreaking specification in terms of ergonomics, functionality and versatility, including the interchangeable chin guard. Twenty years after the original idea, our goal has been reached and the road ahead is smooth: GIVI is now recognized worldwide as the undisputed leader in motorcycle cases and… quality helmets.

MONOKEY®, patented by GIVI, is the most widespread fitting system for hard cases and side cases. Simple to use, it allows operation with only one key, for both the opening of the case and the detachment of the case from the fitting plate. Each of the MONOKEY® products combines the best characteristics of mechanical resistance with rigidity of the fitting, using features such as compact and light components. The even distribution of the load on the plate surface is guaranteed by the three fitting points. The dampening of oscillating and vibration and the contact between the bottom shell and the plate are assured by four spacers made of elastic material, which is particularly resistant to extreme weather and temperature variation. Thanks to these solutions a high level of reliability of the fitting is guaranteed.

In order to offer a wider range of applications and uses, GIVI went on to develop the MONOLOCK® range. Following the same philosophy that defines the MONOKEY® fitting system, this second solution is made for lighter vehicles, such as scooters and maxi-scooters. Although the maximum load is lighter, this fitting system performs comparably to the MONOKEY® system but with lighter components boasting far smaller dimensional restrictions. Because of its compatibility with different kinds of motorcycles, it is appreciated by many major motorcycle brands, who have adopted it as their original accessories. The same as with MONOKEY®, the opening of the case and the detachment of the case from the plate are operated with a single key.

MONOKEY® SIDE is a further innovation of the MONOKEY® system, which allows riders to take full advantage of the space beneath the tail of the motorcycle. This system uses the same fixing strategy as the original MONOKEY® system but on a curved frame that follows the line of the bike. The MONOKEY® SIDE cases are made with the same shape as the frame, providing riders with increased storage space but in a form that fits close to the motorcycle and doesn’t appear bulky or interfere with the riding experience. In addition, the anchor points in the bottom of the case include “slides” that receive the disengagement signal from the release button on the side cases and provide a significant increase in general stability. In this way, the cases that use the MONOKEY® SIDE fitting system are held more firmly to the side of the motorcycle, for a notable improvement in general aerodynamics.

The EASYLOCK® system is a quick fastening system based on GIVI’s long history and experience developing fitting systems for hard cases but adapted to the specific needs and usage patterns of soft bags. This new method offers the motorcyclist a simple, safe method of fastening that is easy to use and lightweight, making it ideal for use with small and medium bags that can support heavy weights. In addition, the EASYLOCK® system was designed for use with a minimal frame, so as to have the least possible impact on the motorcycle aesthetics and aerodynamics. It’s a great solution for riders of sport motorcycles who have the need of additional storage space. The ST609 side bags that are mounted with the EASYLOCK® system provide a full 50 liters of additional storage space in a streamlined and lightweight form that’s both sturdy and stylish.

The TANKLOCK® system is a product designed with two fundamental key points in mind: speed and convenience. Unlike traditional tank bags which are attached to the motorcycle using either straps or magnets, the TANKLOCK® system bags are “hooked” onto the fuel tank cap using a dedicated flange, which enables the bag to be attached and removed rapidly. These flanges are specifically designed for individual motorcycle models, in order to ensure the best possible fit and to guarantee not to obstruct access to the fuel tank. GIVI has an extensive range of tank bag products that are compatible with the TANKLOCK® system, from small 3L-liter “mini” tanks bags to expandable bags of up to 40L capacity. In a further innovation, GIVI developed the patented TANKLOCKED system, which is based on the same attachment strategy but allows the tank bag to be locked securely to the flange with a key in the case that the bike is left unattended, providing even greater security.
